Colts Owner Fires Back About Peyton Manning Comments

There is some tension building up between Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay and franchise quarterback Peyton Manning. After years of harmony thanks to the miracles Manning was able to pull off with the Colts on the field, the constant changes within the organization after a 2-14 season has left Manning feeling uncertain about his future.

After Manning voiced that opinion, Irsay fired back with his own calling him a “politician” and angrily lashed out about the organization’s dirty laundry being aired out.

According to ESPN: “I don’t think it’s in the best interest to paint the horseshoe in a negative light, I really don’t,” Irsay told reporters, referring to the team’s longtime logo. “The horseshoe always comes first, and I think one thing he’s always known, because he’s been around it so long, is that, you know, you keep it in the family. If you’ve got a problem you talk to each other, it’s not about campaigning or anything like that.”

The writing is on the walls folks and this seems to be all she wrote. A fallout between Manning and Irsay will have a huge impact on the rest of the NFL. Irsay is in a tough spot considering his intentions to draft Andrew Luck with Manning’s playing status still up in the air thanks to his neck injury.

If these past couple of weeks are any indication, Manning is on his way out of Indy. Anytime an owner and a quarterback go back and forth through the media, the end is near. The only question is will Peyton be traded, cut, or will he retire?
