With each day that goes by, this situation Dwight Howard is in, sounds very similar to New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony’s situation last season before he was eventually traded to the Big Apple.
And similar to Melo, Howard may end up in the State of New York, because according to ESPN‘s Marc Stein, a source told him that the Orlando Magic will trade Dwight to the Brooklyn Nets by the trade deadline.
Here’s what Stein had to say:
Sources told ESPN.com late Wednesday that the New Jersey Nets have had the most serious discussions with the Magic this week and that the teams were engaged in talks late Wednesday night, with the prospect of at least one more team being recruited into a trade seen as the most likely scenario.
“I believe that you will see Dwight traded to New Jersey tomorrow,” said one source close to the process, referring to the team widely regarded as the No. 1 destination on Howard’s wish list. -Source
It’s strange how the day started with Howard wanting to stay, and now it’s ending with his time in a Magic uniform surely to come to an end.
I guess ESPN’s NBA Insiders had it right, Tuesday’s game against the Miami Heat was Howard’s final home game. The NBA trade deadline is March 15th at 3pm EST.
Ahhhh…the suspense!
