Believe It Or Not Michael Jordan Is Hating On Kobe Bryant

It’s hard to believe but believe it. The G.O.A.T. is hating on Kobe Bean Bryant. Michael Jordan’s top 10 shooting statement referring to Kobe is right but it’s a broad statement at the same time.

“I think he is always going to be within the conversations of some of the greatest players who’ve played by the time he is finished. Where does he rank among those, if you are talking about positions? If you are talking about guards, I would say he has got to be in the top 10.” -Lakersnation

That’s like Tom Brady calling MJ the one of the greatest African-American basketball players to ever lace ‘em up. The statement is too general. Why would MJ even rank Kobe’s abilities as just a shooting guard? If Kobe’s just “top 10″ as a shooting guard, then what’s his rank among all positions.. top 50? Kobe responded saying “I’m definitely one of the top 10 guards. It could mean two, it could mean one, it could mean four or five. I’m definitely one of the top thousand.”

If you take a look at history, you’d find it difficult to find any shooting guard, other than MJ himself, who would rank higher than Kobe. Two years ago when Kobe still had 3 rings, ESPN just happened to rank the best shooting guards of all time, 1 to 10. If you take a look at that list, even if you don’t agree with it you’d have a hard time ranking anyone besides MJ over KB. Maybe he’s uncomfortable with calling Kobe #2 behind himself because Kobe’s already one of the best and he’s still got a lot of basketball left in him.

Kobe could still possibly pass Jordan’s six titles. He could still score more points and possibly jump to #1 on the scoring list if he played until he was 40 like Kareem Abdul Jabbar did. If he did those things, could dethrone Michael Jordan as the G.O.A.T? Judging from his statements, Jordan probably thinks so.

Kobe says he didn’t take the statement as a insult but he responded by saying “I’m definitely one of the top 10 guards. It could mean two, it could mean one, it could mean four or five. I’m definitely one of the top thousand. (Sarcasm at it’s best)
