New York Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frasier wants the Knicks to return to their former glory days and hoist up another NBA trophy. However, the Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudamire experiment didn’t go quite as planned last season and Clyde is offering up a few of his opinions as to why.
Despite the Knicks off season improvements with key veterans like Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, and Raymond Felton, other teams like the Brooklyn Nets, the Miami Heat, and the Boston Celtics also improved.
“I think their window is a two-year window right now,” he said of the Knicks’ chances at a championship. “They have to capitalize right away.”
Frazier also thinks that Melo needs to step up and be like LeBron James.
“They better forget last year and do whatever it takes,” Frazier said of Anthony and Stoudemire. “They have to look at Miami and what LeBron James was able to do, Carmelo especially because James became the consummate player — defense, passing and whatever else it took for that team to get a championship.”-Source
The Knicks need to get it together, and with their recent off season acquisitions, Melo & Stat have some pieces to make the playoffs. Hopefully, they realize this and can capitalize.
