Last night in the house that Peyton Manning built, Eli Manning and the underdog New York Giants upstaged Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Superbowl XLVI by taking home the Lombardi Trophy after a 21-17 win for their second such win in five years (4th overall).
The Giants stumbled midway through the regular season after a 6-2 start but they were able to finish strong by winning the NFC East (which was horrible) at 9-7 and managed to run through the playoffs with the “all in” mentality that every team needs in order to win a championship.
Not only did Eli prove his point in the best way possible, but with last night’s win, he’s most definitely entered the debate regarding the top quarterback in the league.
So say what you want about Eli and the Giants, nothing can negate the fact that they are the World Champs. Congrats NY!
