During this NFL lockout, teams aren’t allowed to talk to players, but that doesn’t mean that players can’t do some recruiting for their team themselves.
According to ESPN New York, New York Giants sack machine, Justin Tuck, said he plans on talking to the former Raiders‘ version of “Revis Island,” Nnamdi Asomugha, about switching coasts and playing for the G-Men.
“New York City is the place to be and that draws on its own, and plus we are a team that hasn’t gotten over the [hump] and a player like him would definitely help do so.” -Source
If Nnamdi was to join Big Blue, he would be a great fit. Unfortunately for the Giants, he may be leaning toward signing with the team that they share New Meadowlands Stadium with: the New York Jets. Nnamdi and Darrelle Revis are good friends, and they have said in the past that they would love to play together.
The only hurdle in the way of that match made in quarterback’s nightmares is that Gang Green has a ton of free agents they still have to tend to once the lockout ends. One of those free agents is cornerback Antonio Cromartie, but if you ask any Jet fan, they’d prefer Asomugha over Cromartie any day.
We’ll have to wait until the lockout is settled before we see where Asomugha decides to take his talents next season.
