As if going down 0-2 to the Miami Heat in their first round series wasn’t bad enough, New York Knicks star Amare Stoudemire added to the bad news after the game.
YahooSports: Amar’e Stoudemire cut his left hand while punching a fire extinguisher casing in the locker room after the New York Knicks’ loss to the Miami Heat Monday night, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Paramedics and the Knicks’ and Heat’s team doctors were immediately called to the locker room. Blood was visible on the carpet when the locker-room doors opened for reporters. Stoudemire received stitches and eventually left the arena with his left hand bandaged and his arm in a sling.
The Knicks are going to need S.T.A.T. on the court if they want to keep take this series back to Miami but that’s up in the air now.
It’s bad enough the Knicks lost Iman Shumpert, now Amare may or may not be able to play in Game 3 after losing his temper. The only good news is that he lacerated his non-shooting hand for whatever that’s worth.
