After experiencing a disappointing 6-10 season with the San Fransisco 49ers in 2010, running back Brian Westbrook wants to return to the City of Brotherly Love and play for Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles once again.
Here’s what Westbrook had to say at a recent autograph-signing in Philadelphia this past weekend:
“I talk to Coach Reid every week or so,” Westbrook told NBC 10 and Comcast SportsNet. “We always talk. And I would love to be back in Philly, so we’ll see how things go.” -Source
Westbrook has done some great things on the field as an Eagle, but he’s getting up there in age. He’s at the tender football age of 31, which is when running backs begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Westbrook, however, believes he still has what it takes to be productive.
“I think I can help out,” he said. “I think they have a very good group of young guys on the team, as far as every position. But I still think that I can help this team win.”
Who could blame Westbrook for wanting to re-unite with his old team? Any NFL veteran at his age would love to be apart of an up and coming team that’s already a Super Bowl contender like the Philadelphia Eagles.
